CIMME — the Centre intégré de mécanique, de métallurgie et d'électricité — is a public vocational centre run by the Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSSMB). As its name suggests, it groups several industrial trades under one roof alongside its DEP Électricité (programme 5295, 1,800 hours, in French), sharing facilities with École André-Laurendeau. It's a well-established francophone option, with reported placement into work close to 100%.
The centre is in LaSalle, in southwest Montréal, within easy reach of the island's construction and industrial employers. Local demand is steady — enough that registration typically opens only about twice a year and the wait list can run a year to a year and a half.
Admissions: DEP Électricité is delivered in French and follows Quebec's standard professional-training prerequisites; CIMME also uses an entry assessment (a math diagnostic plus a basic wiring and colour test). International students are not accepted into this program. Confirm current prerequisites, intake windows and wait-list status with CIMME before applying. (Current as of 2026.)
