Pearson Electrotechnology Centre (PEC) is a public vocational centre run by the Lester B. Pearson School Board — one of the few places in the Montréal area to offer the DEP in Electricity in English (programme 5795, 1,800 hours). More than half the program is hands-on work in its electrical labs, and it includes an industry internship that often leads to hiring.
PEC is in Lachine, on Montréal's West Island, serving the city's large anglophone community and its construction and industrial employers. Demand is high — the program runs through a central admissions system (admissionfp.com) with a wait list that can stretch two to three years, so early application matters.
Admissions: Entry requires a high-school diploma, or Secondary 4 English, French and Math (other pathways are available through an advisor). The DEP is delivered in English. Confirm current prerequisites, intake windows and wait-list status with PEC before applying. (Current as of 2026.)
