About Electrical Industry Training Centres of Alberta (EITCA / IBEW Local 424)

The Electrical Industry Training Centres of Alberta (EITCA) is the training arm of IBEW Local 424 — the unionized route into the electrical trade in Alberta, pairing in-centre training with the local's employer connections.

Based in Edmonton, IBEW Local 424 covers much of Alberta, placing members with signatory industrial and construction employers across the province.

Admissions: This is the unionized route: EITCA delivers electrical training and IBEW Local 424 helps place apprentices with signatory employers; you still register your apprenticeship with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training and complete the four periods plus on-the-job hours toward your journeyperson certificate (Red Seal). Contact EITCA / IBEW Local 424 directly. (Current as of 2026.)
